DSCB Awards

As of this year the Dutch Society for Cell Biology initiates travel grant, lab-visit grant and thesis awards. The call is closed and will be opened after the Biophysics meeting in Veldhoven.

Thesis awards and Travel grants are available for members. Travel and lab-visit grants go up to €500.- and are selected from applications two times a year. A thesis award of €1000.- is granted every two years to a member PhD student for the best thesis. Our advisory board is our jury.

THE RULES:

The Dutch Society for Cell Biology initiates three grants/awards.
Applications should be sent to: secretary DSCB: [e.danen -at- lacdr.leidenuniv.nl]
One grant/award winner is selected in each category by the DSCB board and advisory board members.

DSCB TRAVEL/LAB-VISIT GRANTS:
Maximum amount: € 500.-
Applicants must be PhD students/postdocs who are a DSCB member in the year of application.

The following information should be provided:
– A description of the meeting to be attended and relevance for Cell Biology (1/2 A4)
– Budget
– Signed letter of recommendation from the supervisor
– curriculum vitae
– Awardees commit to writing a report about their trip that will be published on the DSCB website.


DSCB PhD THESIS AWARD
Amount: € 1000.-
Applying PhD student and supervisor must be DSCB member in the year of application.
• DSCB thesis award: Application deadline August 2019. Award ceremony at Biophysics meeting 2019!

The following information should be provided:
– A description of the research conducted, its importance to the field of Cell Biology, and plans of the applicant for the future (max. 2 A4)
– Signed letter of recommendation from the supervisor and twee external referees
– curriculum vitae
– Awardees commit to writing a short summary of the thesis that will be published on the DSCB website.
